The Fighting Pi's rookie season was 2006. That year, two alliances composed of three teams each competed in each match. The object of the game was to score more points than your opponent's team by shooting foam balls into elevated goals. Teams had a high goal, which was placed above the driver's station, worth 3 points for each ball scored. There were also two lower goals, which had a small ramp leading into them. The lower goals were worth 1 point for each ball scored. To score bonus points, a robot needed to climb a ramp and stay on top of it before time expired.
The Fighting Pi's 2006 Robot Specifications: - Speed: 12 feet per second - Scoring: Bowled balls into lower goals - Capabilities: Could pick up balls from ground or human player
