2006
In 2006, FIRST introduced the game "Aim High". The game was made of periods where teams alternated offense and defense, and attempted to score in low or high goals by rolling or shooting balls that could be collected from the floor, or from a human player. Team 1718 designed a basic robot capable of robust defense and able to roll balls into the low goals, won the Rookie All Star award, and qualified for the World Championships. 2007
Rack 'N Roll was the first game that required The Fighting Pi to build a working manipulator. The object of the game was to hang rows of inner tubes on a central rack. The Pi designed a simple arm robot that was able to accomplish the task well. A second portion of the game was to lift the other robots on your team off the floor by 12 inches. The Pi did not attempt that portion of the game, but they managed to place extremely well this year. Click here for a more thorough accounting of the team's 2007 season.

2008
2008's Overdrive mimiced Nascar racing with a twist. Robots were expected to hurdle large balls (called track balls) over a high aluminum railing as they raced around the course. Team 1718's hi-lo design was their most effective robot yet, and performed extremely well at competition, earning them their first Semi-Final birth. 2009
Lunacy prevailed in 2009. That is to say, the game "Lunacy" was introduced. It simulated the moon's gravity by lower robot traction through the required use of hard plastic wheels and a hard plastic playing field. Team 1718 had a tough year: they were plagued with electrical problems created by static build-up. Click here for a more thorough accounting of the team's 2009 season.

2010
The Fighting Pi's crowning achievement to date is the 2010 robot. Dubbed "a toaster on wheels," it performed brilliantly in 2010's "Break Away", a soccer based game. Able to score with ease from anywhere on the field and lift itself off the ground for bonus points, the team managed two sets of semifinals in regional competition, a trip to the division finals at the World Championship, and a win at the MARC offseason invitational competition. 2011
In 2011, Team 1718 worked with a rookie team. The teams built near identical twins at the Ford Romeo build space, and both performed extremely well. One of the robots won the Waterford District event, then both teamed up together and won through to the finals of the Troy District event. Both made it to the quarterfinals at the State Championship, qualified for the World Championship, and competed in the quarterfinals of their Divisions.
